Who are we?
JJ’S DEPOT has been established as a Hardware Supplies and Farm Store. Our traditional business model is based on the retailing of Hardware and Farming supplies. A community oriented business that strives to provide the best service and product selections for our customers by always making it right; for every customer, every time.

History
The name ‘JJ’s Hardware’ shared this same location for over two decades. JJ’s Depot is a relatively young privately owned Jamaican company. While we partially share the name and history of a company that was founded in the 1990’s the renewed company started in 2015 focusing on hardware and farming products. The aim is to providing a wide array of product to the Jamaican public such as: sand, stone, blocks, doors, nail, lumber, steel, cement, electrical & plumbing items, farming supplies: fertilizers, insecticide, fungicide etc. flooring, garden tools, chemicals, hand tools, seeds, windows, wires and much more.
JJ’s Depot supports its vision by striving to provide the best service and product selections for our customers and the community on a whole.
Today the company has a growing number of employees with a skilled workforce, with years of experience in the construction, building materials and distributive trade; the majority of whom are residents of the surrounding communities within which we operate.
JJ’s Depot has not only expanded its staff complement but also its product range and facilities with the goal of expansion and maturity for the future.
Location
The company’s main office is located at 98 Park Avenue; Gutters; Bushy Park P.O.; St. Catherine. It is in close proximity of Buds Service Station.

Scope of work
JJ’S DEPOT facilitates overseas clients in providing building material at the best possible price also completing and giving oversight of their housing projects. Also we provide transportation of goods for our clients and customers to various destinations.
Scope of work also includes block making and transporting to several customers.
Employee Responsibilities
- Employees need to be approachable, customer-focused and familiar with basic hardware and tools or able to learn about the products quickly
- Unload inventory shipments & stocking items on the sales floor
- Feel comfortable using equipment like forklifts and ladders to load and unload merchandise.
- Responsible for promoting and selling the wide assortment of merchandise most hardware stores maintain
- Display enthusiasm and product knowledge constantly while on the job
- Monitor the availability of in-stock merchandise, and help keep the store clean and organized.
- Excellent communication skills, exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Assist in the training and development of peers.
- A commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction.
- Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirement
- Employees must regularly provide assistance by carrying heavy or oversized merchandise/goods for shoppers and loading purchased items into customer vehicles or outside for the customers.
- Remain capable of lifting heavy items repeatedly over the course of work shifts.
Driver Responsibilities
- Report defects, accidents or violations in relation to vehicles, goods and property
- Transport paid goods to customer in safe and good condition
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
- Help with loading and unloading of goods
- Inspecting vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
- Collect and verify delivery instructions
- Ensure the delivery note is signed by the customers upon receiving goods.
- Keep vehicles in clean and in healthy condition.
